It has been yeeeeeaaaars (YEARS) since I’ve had a week off from work. Like almost two decades worth of years. Which is nutty and a little embarrassing but that’s the life of a self employed small business owner who hasn’t learned proper life/work boundaries until, well, this past week. But I got cued into this secret cabin in the Big Bear, CA forest (in which an actual big bear hung around) from an Instagram tag and I thought, “Yeah this is the most darling design style and I need to go here.” And so I did. This dining nook is where I spent the most time with my old blind dog curled up beside me, sun shining in. The hand painted mural was inspired by the illustrations of John Bauer and it transported me, as you can imagine. Fun fact: the window to the right was where I first saw the bear that took a liking to the yard; he came right up to the window! Wild.
